Recent research shows that up to 70% of smokers think about quitting each year. In addition, advice to quit from a health professional is cited by tobacco users as the number one motivator to quit. By advising all tobacco-using patients & consumers to quit at every visit you can make an impact on Arizona's tobacco use rate.
The Arizona Smokers' Helpline (ASHLine) can help you become more comfortable talking to your patients & consumers about quitting tobacco use. Our outreach professionals can assist you in developing tobacco screening and intervention policies, get you registered to make patient referrals, help you track referrals in our database, and even show you how to bill for intervention services.
Best of all, the resources and technical assistance provided by the Arizona Smokers' Helpline (ASHLine) are free.
